The Nature Conservancy has awarded a total of 100-thousand dollars to ten Wisconsin farmer-led conservation groups.

The awards are between five and ten thousand dollars each thanks to support from the Sally Mead Foundation to help farmers implement practices that support soil and water quality on their land and in their communities, while also benefitting their economic bottom line.

The Nature Conservancy says priority for awarding their grants was based on the creativity of the cost-sharing programs, and to newer, less established farmer-led watershed groups.
