Direct cash cattle trade activity is relatively quiet following the active day on Thursday.  Some bids have surfaced at $175 live and $277 dressed in the North.  For the week, live deals in the South were marked at $174, to mostly $175, $2 higher than the previous week’s weighted averages.  Northern dressed business was at mostly $277, $3 higher than the prior week’s weighted average basis.  Asking prices for what’s left on showlists are around $177 live in the South and $278 dressed in the North.
