Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures and precipitation across much of country. Cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to the southern Atlantic region and the Far West.
Meanwhile, drier-than-normal weather should be limited to western Washington and an area stretching from the Gulf Coast to the southern and central Appalachians and the Northeast.
