Milk futures were lower and the cash dairy markets were mixed Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
February Class III milk was down $0.09 at $16.26. March was down $0.32 at $17.45. April was down $0.28 at $17.73. May was down $0.20 at $17.95.
June through December contracts ranged from eleven cents lower in June to twelve cents higher in October. Friday’s trade volume was estimated at just over twenty-six hundred contracts.
Dry whey was down $0.0075 at $0.50. One sale was recorded at that price.
Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0350 at $1.6150. One sale was recorded at $1.6525.
Cheese barrels were down $0.0150 at $1.5750. Two sales were recorded at $1.5825 and $1.5925.
Butter was up $0.0250 at $2.77. Eight sales were recorded, ranging from $2.7450 to $2.78.
Nonfat dry milk was up $0.0150 at $1.24. Six sales were recorded, ranging from $1.23 to $1.24.
