Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures throughout the North and across the eastern half of the U.S., while cooler-than-normal conditions will stretch from central and southern California to the southern High Plains. 

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation from the Rockies to the Atlantic Coast should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in the West.
