A storm system will reach the Red River Valley of the North on Thursday. Just north of the storm’s path, snow will blanket much of Montana and North Dakota. Meanwhile, unsettled, showery weather will prevail in the western U.S. through Saturday, followed by cooler, drier conditions late in the weekend. Meanwhile, rain showers will develop across the South late in the week, with totals greater than an inch possible from eastern Texas to the southern Appalachians.
