Direct cash cattle trade is underway.  Live deals in Kansas are marked at $180, $2 lower than the previous week’s weighted averages.  Some asking prices are holding firm in the South at $183-plus live and $289-plus dressed in the North.  Look for more business to develop over the balance of the week.

Boxed beef is mixed at midday with relatively light demand for fairly light offerings.  Choice is $.18 higher at $292.45 and Select is $1.18 lower at $284.12.  The Choice/Select spread is $8.33. 

At the Ozarks Regional Stockyards in Missouri, feeder steers and heifers were unevenly steady.
