For Thursday, a disturbance crossing the northern U.S. will produce some snow from the northern Plains into the Great Lakes region.  That system will reach New England early Friday.  Meanwhile, a larger storm system moving inland along the Pacific Coast will produce significant precipitation across Oregon and northern California.  The trailing storm will also race eastward, reaching the Ohio Valley late Friday and exiting the middle Atlantic Coast on Saturday.  However, cloudy, showery weather along the storm’s trailing cold front will linger in the Gulf Coast region through the weekend.
