Unsettled, showery weather in the West will end around the middle of the week, followed by several dry days. However, along the immediate Pacific Coast, an offshore storm system may be close enough to result in lingering cloudiness and possibly a few late-week showers. Farther east, a period of dry weather across the eastern one-third of the U.S. will end by Thursday, when rainfall could total an inch or more in the Ohio Valley and neighboring regions.
