The head of the Michigan FFA Foundation says she wants to support agricultural teachers in more meaningful ways longer-term.
Alex Schnabelrauch tells Brownfield she’s concerned about how teacher shortages could impact the future of agriscience programs.
“We’re seeing it in our local schools and communities, and we do not want that to happen for agricultural education because those teachers are the linchpin,” she says. “And those folks are introducing these students to careers in agriculture food and natural resources.”
She says she’d like to see expanded teacher resources incorporated into giving programs as Michigan FFA nears its centennial anniversary.
