Milk futures and the cash dairy markets were lower except for butter Tuesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

March Class III milk was down $0.18 at $16.52.  April was down $0.33 at $16.25.  May was down $0.19 at $16.86.  June was down $0.18 at $17.44.  

July through January contracts ranged from unchanged in January to seventeen cents lower in July.  Tuesday’s Class III trade volume was 2,197 contracts. 

Dry whey was down $0.01 at $0.4150.  No sales were recorded.  

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0375 at $1.49.  Six sales were recorded, ranging from $1.47 to $1.49. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0225 at $1.6250.  Five sales were recorded, ranging from $1.61 to $1.63. 

Butter was up $0.0175 at $2.8275.  Thre sales were recorded, ranging from $2.8275 to $2.83. 

Nonfat dry milk was down $0.0275 at $1.17.   Two sales were recorded at $1.17 and $1.1750.
