Some bids are now on the table in cash cattle country in parts of Kansas and Nebraska. Asking prices are around $186 to $187 in the South and $294 plus in the North. Packer inquiry should continue to improve as the day progresses, but it’s possible significant trade volume could be delayed until Friday. Beef exports of 14,000 tons were 14% higher than the previous week, mainly to South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.

Boxed beef cutout values were higher at midday with light to moderate movement.
