Milk futures and the cash dairy markets were steady to lower, except for butter Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
April Class III milk was down $0.12 at $16.17. May was down $0.22 at $16.48. June was down $0.17 at $17.29. July was down $0.14 at $18.04.
August through February contracts ranged from unchanged in October, November, and January to fourteen cents lower in September. Monday’s Class III trade volume was 1,232 contracts.
Dry whey was down $0.0250 at $0.4050. Three sales were recorded, ranging from $0.4050 to $40.4175.
Forty-pound cheese blocks remained unchanged at $1.45. One sale was recorded at that price.
Cheese barrels were down $0.0050 at $1.4950.
