Ohio farmers had a cool and cloudy week to apply fertilizer and manure, and to get some spring tillage done. 

USDA statistician Ben Torrance says topsoil moisture is 69% adequate, 24% surplus, and just 6% short.

One percent of the Ohio oats are now planted.  Four percent of the winter wheat is jointed with 67% of the wheat in good or excellent condition.

USDA says some stone fruit and pear trees are blooming in southern counties, and hayfields are starting to green up.
