The start of the growing season began earlier than ever for a northeast Iowa farmer.
Bob Hemesath of Decorah says this past winter was more like spring.
“It’s been a really mild winter other than a couple cold snaps, and (we) got in the field earlier than we ever have before. So it was an easy winter.”
He tells Brownfield some anhydrous ammonia was applied the week of March 11th, and a contractor worked on waterways last week.
