A strong, slow-moving storm system centered over the middle Mississippi Valley will drift northward through Wednesday. For the remainder of Wednesday, there is a significant threat of severe weather, including large hail and high winds, in an area broadly centered on the mid-Atlantic and deep southeastern states. Meanwhile, wind-driven snow will fall across the upper Great Lakes region, with accumulations topping a foot in some locations. Subsequently, the storm will translate eastward to the northern Atlantic Coast on Thursday.
