Milk futures were lower and the cash dairy markets were mixed Wednesday on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. 

April Class III milk was down $0.05 at $15.42.  May was down $0.05 at $15.64.  June was down $0.06 at $16.32.  July was down $0.08 at $17.08.  

August through February contracts ranged from unchanged in October, December, and January to four cents lower in August and November.  Wednesday’s Class III trade volume was slightly higher with 2,598 contracts. 

Dry whey was down $0.01 at $0.38.  One sale was recorded at that price. 

Forty-pound cheese blocks were down $0.0050 at $1.44.  Seven sales were recorded, ranging from $1.4375 to $1.45. 

Cheese barrels were down $0.0025 at $1.45.  Two sales were recorded at that price. 

Butter continued to rise, up $0.02 at $2.94.  Eleven sales were recorded, ranging from $2.9325 to $2.94. 

Nonfat dry milk was up $0.01 at $1.14.   One sale was recorded at $1.13.
