The Ohio Department of Agriculture says a dairy in the northern-central part of the state has tested presumptive positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza. Confirmation is still pending from the USDA’s National Veterinary Services Laboratory. If confirmed, this would be the third state to receive dairy cows from Texas farms that have tested positive for the virus.
The operation, located in Wood County (the north-central part of the state), received cows in early March from one of the Texas dairies that have since tested positive for HPAI.
