A bill that would provide fuel retailers an easier transition to handle higher ethanol blends has passed an Iowa House subcommittee.
Republican State Representative Norlin Mommsen, Chair of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Appropriations Subcommittee, says lawmakers are addressing some concerns from retailers to obtain dispensers that are compatible with E85.
“That pump is a special-order pump, and it costs close to $10,000,” he said. “So a station with four pumps would have $40,000 wrapped in just to meet the E85 requirements.
