Corn planting continues to trickle along in Kansas.
USDA says as of Sunday 5% of the state’s expected corn crop has been plated, ahead of the 4% pace last year and the five-year average of 3%.
Forty-nine percent of the state’s winter wheat crop is in good to excellent condition.
Topsoil moisture is rated 42% adequate to surplus, and subsoil moisture is at 43%.
