Direct cash cattle trade activity is off to its typically quiet start to the week.  Bids and asking prices have not been established as both buyers and sellers are busy taking inventory.  Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until at least midweek or even later.  There was a light round of business that took place last week.  Dressed deals in the North ranged from $295 to $298, mostly $296 to $297, $3 to $4 lower than the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
