A diversified farmer in northeast Missouri says he will start planting corn and soybeans later this week.
Wes Shoemyer says the recent rains and cool conditions have affected the soil and better conditions are needed to give the corn and soybeans a good start.
“The way the weather looks is it will warm the ground up. We have a few planters and we’ll start with both corn and soybeans. The ground is going to work like a dream, but the subsoil is still dry.
