The Global Dairy Trade Index was up 0.1% in Tuesday’s trading session. A slight rise in the whole milk powder price helped balance losses in the cheese market. Whole milk powder accounted for more than half of the volume of products sold.
Cheddar cheese prices were down 8.5% to $3,974 per metric ton, or $1.80 per pound.
Mozzarella cheese prices fell 3.8% to $3,755 per metric ton, or $1.70 per pound.
