An agronomist in northwest Missouri says the widespread rains over the past few days might cause stand issues for the recently planted corn and soybeans.

Erin Marlow with CropLife Consulting says the rainfall has been variable.

“We’ve had reports anywhere from a half inch to 2.5 inches before this bit of rain that fell overnight into this morning.”

She says some farmers might consider replanting.

“Especially in the low-lying areas and anywhere the water is going to sit and not be able to get off the field.
