An agriculture lobbyist says the introduction of farm bill frameworks doesn’t guarantee passage of the legislation any time soon.
Ohio Corn and Wheat’s Director of Public Policy Luke Crumley tells Brownfield the Congressional process is still in its early stages.
“The process is incredibly frustrating,” he says. “This is a good step forward, but I want to temper everyone’s enthusiasm. We have a long slog ahead of us, especially in a presidential cycle.”
Crumley says the Senate Ag Committee’s summary of the bill is just one example of the kind of work that needs to be done.
