Direct cash cattle trade activity is off to a typically quiet start to the week.  Bids and asking prices have yet to surface as buyers and sellers are preparing for the week’s upcoming business.  Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until midweek or later.  Last week’s business held out until Friday.  Southern live deals ranged from $183 to $187, mostly $184, fully steady with the prior week’s business.  Dressed deals had a full range of $294 to $296, mostly $295, also steady with the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
