Warm weather nearly nationwide early in the week will be briefly replaced by cooler conditions, especially in the Midwest and Northeast. Late in the week, however, temperatures in those cooler areas will rebound to near- or above-normal levels. Meanwhile, locally heavy rain will continue to shift eastward from the South and lower Midwest, clearing the Atlantic Coast around the middle of the week. However, as rain ends in the Southeast, a new storm system will arrive across the southcentral U.S., delivering a new round of heavy rain.
