Direct cash cattle trade activity is quiet again today. Bids have been elusive, and asking prices have yet to surface. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until sometime Thursday or Friday.
Boxed beef is higher at midday on solid demand for moderate offerings. Choice is $2.98 higher at $307.27 and Select is $.85 higher at $294.67. The Choice/Select spread is $12.70.
At the Kingsville Livestock Market in Missouri, steers and heifers were steady to $5 higher with a couple of spots of $10 higher on calves.
