CHS, the nation’s largest agricultural cooperative, has signed a letter of intent to acquire a west-central Minnesota co-op.
CHS executive vice president of ag retail, distribution, and transportation Rick Dusek says there are several reasons to move forward with Ulen-based West Central Ag Services.
“But mainly to align our supply chains, connect the local growers to the global marketplace, to create more efficiencies, and we just feel we are better together than we are apart.”
He tells Brownfield the cooperatives have worked together on a joint venture called Central Plains Ag Services in eastern North Dakota.
