Illinois corn farmers say more work is needed to ensure access to E-15 is uninterrupted.
Dave Loos, director of research and business development with the Illinois Corn Growers Association, says the recent emergency waiver granting summertime sales of E-15 in eight midwestern states was a step in the right direction.
“The administration has to renew this waiver every two – 2 1/2 weeks because it is an emergency waiver, but we don’t see any hiccups there.” He says, “We’re convinced that consumers will have access to E-15 throughout the summer months of this year.”
In 2025, the eight midwestern states will have the green light to sell year-round E-15, but the other 42 states might lose their ability to sell E-15 in the summertime.
