A member of the Senate Ag Committee says lawmakers have a lot of work to do before a new farm bill is signed into law.
U.S. Senator Roger Marshall says the House has made progress with a markup expected this week. “I think they’re a little bit ahead of what’s going on in the Senate,” he said. “I remain optimistic, but we still have to put the farm back in the farm bill.”
The Kansas Republican says the Senate’s framework doesn’t provide enough attention to crop insurance.
