U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley says he was discouraged by the recent announcement on sustainable aviation fuel tax credits.
The Iowa Republican tells Brownfield the updated Greenhouse gases, Regulated Emissions, and Energy use in Technologies or GREET model needs some adjustments.
“There’s people right now at USDA that knows the GREET model has to be changed from what was put out,” he said. “I’m looking forward to those changes that probably won’t come for a long time yet.”
Grassley says the updated guidance provides an all-or-nothing formula that could limit corn-based ethanol’s contribution to the sustainable aviation fuel industry.
