For 50 years the American Dairy Association Indiana has been introducing rookie drivers to the tradition of milk in Victory Circle at the Indy 500.

Kyle Larson is the 2024 Fastest Rookie.

“Being a part of the rookie luncheon here today, milking a cow, all of that was great,” he said. “It’s just a very historic race with a lot of prestige around it and a lot of traditions.

The Fastest Rookie award was started in 1975 by the association to recognize the fastest average rookie speeds during the qualifying laps for the Indy 500.
