Meanwhile, a slow-moving storm system will move inland along the Pacific Coast before stalling over central Canada. Showers and thunderstorms will remain active for several days along the storm’s trailing cold front, with 5-day rainfall totals reaching 1 to 3 inches or more from the Plains into the Mississippi Valley. Significantly higher amounts (at least 5 inches) may occur in parts of the south-central U.S.
