The incoming president of the Livestock Marketing Association says cattle marketing patterns have shifted now that the drought has improved in northeast Missouri.

Mike VanMaanen owns a livestock auction in Pike County and tells Brownfield “it’s really driven up the price of replacement cows and young pairs. We see those climbing in price to make up for the inventory sold off during the drought.”

VanMaanen says some producers had to take a different approach to selling their cows and calves.
