A climatologist says some parts of the Corn Belt have had a top 10 wettest start to a growing season.
Iowa’s Justin Glisan says if that trend continues, “That would be a lot of moisture at that 150-to-200% of normal.”
He tells Brownfield a warm-up period is expected soon. “We are seeing a warmer signal built in, and then shifting towards near-normal rainfall potential throughout June.”
Glisan says the transition to La Nina helped shift the southern storm flow to the central and northern crop growing states.
