A climatologist says rangeland conditions are mixed across the Midwest and Plains.

Eric Hunt with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln says some areas of western Nebraska remain dry. “I did get some confirmation from a beef extension educator out in this region that’s basically kind of confirming that some pastures are short of moisture and are starting to show some signs of stress. Things are definitely starting to show up here just a bit dry up in parts of South Dakota.”

He says conditions have improved year-over-year in Kansas.
