A custom harvester says the winter wheat crop is average at the Kansas-Oklahoma border.

Ryan Haffner says the wheat was really stressed at one point and there was some damage.

“Test weights are still good. Protein is ok and yields are variable from 25 to 60+ bushel/acre wheat now.”

He tells Brownfield good harvest progress has been made due to the nice weather conditions and next week, he’ll be in western Kansas and eastern Colorado.
