Deloris Heim, daughter of Elmer and Myrtle (Severson) Hellickson, was born November 14, 1928, in Adams, MN. She grew up in rural Hardy, IA on the family farm. She attended Humbolt High School of Humbolt, IA, graduating in 1946. Deloris was united in marriage to Roy Heim on November 9, 1947, in Thor, IA. Together they farmed in Livermore, IA.
Later the two moved to Missouri where Deloris and her husband ran a convince store called “Lampe Market” up until retirement. After retirement the two moved back to Iowa, settling in Marshalltown. This is when Deloris decided full retirement wasn’t quite for her and she started working for Grandparents International at the Northside Daycare in what was called the “Babies’ Room”.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She will be missed greatly by her two daughters, Sandra Anderson of Columbia, MO and Pat (Tim) Hauser of Marshalltown, IA; her 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Myrtle; her loving husband, Roy; two daughters, Linda Shimon and Theresa Toman; and a grandson, Mathew Shimon.
