It was an unfortunately short end to both bobcat girls wrestlers at the state meet yesterday. Both Olivia Wise and Nevaeh Gonzalez qualified as freshmen, but both were bested in their opening two matches, bowing out of the state competition at 0-2. The same was not true of all our local wrestlers, including West Marshall Senior Elizabeth Kalinay, who picked up her 100th career win in the quarterfinals, putting the 5th seed Kalinay into the semifinals. Be sure to stay tuned to KFJB throughout the day for updates from Coralville as the Girls State Wrestling Championships continue on today.
