Timothy Dean Eggers was born on August 20, 1960 at St. Thomas Hospital, the son of Ronald and Donna (Shipley) Eggers. Tim graduated from LDF High School with the Class of 1978.

On April 23, 1983, Tim was united in marriage to Susan A. Runner at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dillon, IA. They resided in Marshalltown until 1990, and then made their home in State Center.

Tim worked for the City of Marshalltown Street Department for 44 years, retiring in December of 2022.

Tim’s passion was fishing. He fished every pond and lake in the surrounding area and out of state, in the hopes of getting that big catch! He had a record catch of a 38-inch Muskie. If he wasn’t fishing, he was likely shopping for more fishing gear or tools. Tim was a regular at Bass Pro Shops, Fleet Farm, Scheels and Harbor Freight. He loved to save a buck and earn rewards at his frequent stops.

Tim was always tinkering on something; he would always find ways to DIY any project to get it the way he wanted it. He enjoyed working on his many boats, trailers and outdoor projects.

Tim was a family man. He enjoyed getting together with family and reminiscing. Sharing stories of the past always brought him a smile and a good laugh.

With a cold Dr. Pepper in hand and a few snacks by his side, Tim enjoyed watching sports. His favorite teams were the Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees, Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones.

In death Tim rejoins his grandparents; parents, Ronald and Donna Eggers; and his wife, Susan.

Left to cherish Tim’s memory are his daughters: Diana Eggers of Lake City and Laura Eggers of State Center; his grand-dogs, Oliver and Stella; his brothers, Michael Eggers of LeGrand and Brian Eggers of Marshalltown, his Uncle Larry Eggers of Milford and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to thank the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshalltown Fire Department, Marshall County Conservation, Gilman Fire Department, Gilman First Responders, Marshall County Medical Examiner’s Office and UnityPoint Health – Marshalltown.
