People have been getting letters about the assessed value of their homes and property. Recently those values have been going up, a lot. City Councilor Jeff Schneider says a lot of people contact him about their assessed value, and he wants people to understand that the City Council does not have any power over assessed value of homes.

The State and County are the entities that manage the assessed value of your home and property.

Schneider reminded listeners on Friday that the only thing the City Council controls with taxes is the city levy, which is staying flat at $16.00 per $1000 of valuation.
