April is Volunteer Appreciation Month and many local non-profits would not survive without the help of volunteers. The Iowa River Hospice recently talked about all the help they get from volunteers.

That is Executive Director of the Iowa River Hospice, Shauna Callaway. She says what many non-profits feel, Volunteers help push the organization forward. Callaway says there is no age limit for volunteers.

If people want to volunteer with the Iowa River Hospice, she says people can reach out via phone or stop by the facility. Any local non-profit would love to have a volunteer walk through their doors asking how they can help.
