Jim Bonser of the Amateur Astronomers of Central Iowa joined the show yesterday to talk about a donation they recently received to go toward something special.

The observatory will be out at Green Castle where all the current telescopes are located and Bonser says this new observatory will be an improvement on their current one that provides some issues for folks of all ages.

The full sky will be available for viewing shortly as Bonser says they hope to break ground here in the next month with some help from a group out at Marshalltown Community College. Bonser hopes the new observatory will be fully open this year come the fall.
