The Marshalltown Area United Way at their core is about helping non-profits flourish in our community. The main way they support local non-profits is by helping them out financially, through their annual campaign. Every spring, the Marshalltown Area United Way also hosts a Day of Action.

That is Rachel Norton, the Events and Marketing Manager for the Marshalltown Area United Way. She says people can reach out to her or the United Way Office to sign up to participate in the Day of Action. Executive Director, Kendra Sorensen says it is coming up on Friday, May 16th.

Sometimes the hardest part about volunteering and giving back is carving out the time to do it. Day of Action carves out that time on May 16th. Sorensen and Norton say it does not matter how much time you can give, even an hour will make a difference.
