May is School Board Appreciation Month and the Iowa Valley Community College District has a volunteer board whose members are elected every 4 years. Joanna Hofer, President of the IVCCD Board, talks about what they oversee as board members.

One of the programs Hofer has watched develop and see a ton of success is the Esports program

While Esports is not something Hofer is familiar with, she could see how it would benefit the District as a whole. Ellsworth has now added their own Esports Team

The idea started out as an extracurricular team, but then morphed into classes and an academic program at MCC. Hofer took time to thank all of the board members with her as it is much more than just 1 meeting a month.
