The Bobcat Boys soccer team had their home finale last night as they hosted the Ottumwa Bulldogs in an Iowa Alliance Conference matchup. KFJB reporter David Braga has the story.
(As Said) “Cats and Dogs don’t always get along and last night was certainly an example. It was a high scoring, high flying, high fouling affair last night as the Bobcats finished off the home slate of the regular season. The Cats trailed 3-2 at the half as both sides flashed their speed on the attacking half. Moving into the second half, the cats would then need to fight back down not only 4-3, but also a player following a red card, and they would do so as Aaron Ordaz Zambrano found his second penalty kick goal of the night to tie the game. The final 20 minutes went quietly into the night as neither team was able to find the game-winning goal. The Cats will close their regular season on Thursday when they travel to take on the Prairie Hawks.”
On the flip side for the girls, they traveled south yesterday to take on the Bulldogs of Ottumwa. The girls end the first half in a 0-0 tie and in the 2nd half both teams finally score a couple of goals. Each team scores 2 goals and the game ends in a tie, 2-2. That pushes the Bobcats record to 10-3-3 on the season. They have 1 more home game this season it is Friday against Columbus Catholic.
