The Marshalltown girls soccer team closed out their regular season Friday night against the Columbus Catholic Sailors in a 3A vs. 1A matchup. The Cats were looking to pick up their 11th win of the year and 30th in the last three years, a mark that would top their win total over the 9 previous years, a span with 29 wins. With the wind at their backs for the first half, the Bobcats found a trio of goals to push the lead to 3-0 before intermission. Following the break, needing to hold back some aggression from the Sailors, the Cats would find a fourth goal, this one off the boot of McKenna Coleman, icing the 4-0 win. The Cats will head into their postseason match against Des Moines Roosevelt on May 28th winners of 5 of 6 and having gone without a loss since April 18th.
