Last week there was a situation that led to a car chase between the Marshalltown Police Department and someone who had stolen a vehicle. Captain Kiel Stevenson says the Flock Cameras were instrumental in this situation.
He says the cameras are extremely valuable as it gives officers real time alerts so they can attempt to stop the driver. Captain Stevenson says during any car pursuit, the Police Department does their best to mitigate any dangers or public damage. They eventually deployed stop sticks in the pursuit last week.
Capt. Stevenson says the speed in the pursuit last week was not excessive but the stop sticks were deployed to help bring the vehicle to a halt. He says all police officers were fine in the pursuit last week.
The vehicle crashed into a food truck in the Calvin Rockett parking lot damaging the Food Truck. Captain Stevenson is proud of the work that the Marshalltown Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriffs Office did in the car pursuit last week.
