About 1 year ago, Matt Schmit was hired on as the Marshalltown Community College Provost.  He has now finished his first full academic year and he has found some good problems for MCC.

Schmit says this last spring semester MCC was up 9% in enrollment.  He says that number and the success rate of students are things he will remember about his first year.

MCC has made a name for themselves nationally with their Esports program, something Schmit was not familiar with before he came to Marshalltown.

There are a lot of good things happening at Marshalltown Community College and the enrollment numbers reflect that.  Schmit says part of the future plans is to build more on campus housing as more students want to live on campus.
